May 24th

Holidays are my favourite time of year and summer is my favourite season. If you ask me the unofficial start to summer in Bermuda is May 24th, better know as Bermuda Day and the first official boat day of the year. It is the first day of the year where it is acceptable to go out on the water (but not in for true Bermudians, it’s still too cold to go swimming!)

This year I was sick for the actual holiday and spend the day starting to move my stuff out of my apartment. Not my ideal holiday but I guess you can say it was somewhat of a productive one.

The weekend before I was invited out on the water by a friend. It was a last minute invite, so I pick up the first bathing suit I could find, grabbed my shorts and threw on this vest that I found at a thrift shop about 2 years ago and had yet to wear. Something simple but cute. This was back when I was still on my diet for the pageant, so I spent more time preparing my food instead of getting ready, making sure I had food I could eat while on the water. I was so proud of myself that day. (Don’t even try to ask about my diet now! I left that on the stage the night of the pageant. As I’ve always known, diets are not for me, I would rather exercise.)
